Signal Symphony
Medium
Stainless Steel, Custom PCB
Date
May 2024
Signal Symphony is a sound sculpture taking the form of a small traffic jam. The cars sit still with their turn signals on, hoping to escape the congestion. The clicking of their signals phase in and out of sync with one another.
Each car has their own custom PCB that clicks their blinker at different BPMs. Even though these cars appear isolated from one another, patterns emerge from the chaos. It is a visual and auditory exploration into chaos theory.
Turn signals click, a road’s conversation,
In the symphony of ticks, find navigation.
